Study: Gamer Kids are More Creative

Pete Davison, GamePro:

HealthCanal reports that a new study of nearly 500 12 year olds found noticeably increased creativity among those who played video games, while use of cellphones, the Internet and computers (for non-gaming purposes) were unrelated to that particular branch of the imagination. […]

Boys were found to be more active gamers than girls, and boys favored violent or sports games, while girls favored games involving interaction with others — either human or nonhuman. But regardless of gender, race or type of games played, the study also discovered that video games were the only technology surveyed that appeared to have a strong association with greater creativity.

I’ve always believed that being a gamer helps make me not only more creative, but also more intelligent.
